Birth Control  

Clinics are held weekly, on Tuesdays, by appointment only. Evening hours are available. Due to the extensive education provided to our clients, please allow approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours for an initial visit. Call for an appointment at (815) 844-7174 ext. 221.

Birth Control

Methods of birth control available at Family Planning include Depo-Provera, a variety of birth control pills, Otho-Evra (the patch) and the Nuvaring. Referrals are available for other birth control methods. *Fee is based on ability to pay.

Birth Control pick up hours are Monday/Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

Emergency Contraception Pills (ECPs), sometimes called "The Morning After Pill", are available daily, without an appointment from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. *$20.00 donation requested.

Free condoms are available on a walk in basis.

The abortion pill is not available at the health department.

Free pregnancy tests are done on Mondays and Thursdays, on a walk-in basis, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Birth Control

Gardasil is the vaccine given to prevent most types of cervical cancer.  Gardasil is available to qualifying Family Planning Clinic clients.
