The purpose of the Livingston County Health Department is the protection and improvement of public health in the County.  The Department is charged with the enforcement and observation of all state laws, and county ordinances pertaining to the preservation of health.  A variety of programs are available from the Health Department and more information may be obtained on these programs by calling the office at 815-844-7174 or accessing information from this web site.  The health department employs 42 individuals and operates on a 3.8 million dollar budget.
